A pharmacy technician who got a job before he joined the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) register after falsely telling his employers he had completed his professional qualification has been warned by the regulator.
Alexander Pascoe was handed a 12-month warning last week by the GPhC’s investigating committee. He told his employers he would join the pharmacy technician register in September 2024 but had not even completed his qualification.
The committee heard he “repeatedly told managers that delays to his registration were administrative in nature”. He completed the pharmacy technician qualification in January 2025.
“This behaviour constitutes a serious breach of trust and integrity and is contrary to the professional standards expected of pharmacy technicians on the register,” the GPhC said.
“Such conduct undermines the confidence of members of the public in the integrity of the profession.
“Mr Pascoe is warned that honesty, integrity and transparency are fundamental aspects of being a pharmacy professional and that he is required to take responsibility for his registration status and accurately reflect this at all times to his employers.”
The committee warned Pascoe “any further instance of dishonesty, lack of candour or false representations may result in more serious regulatory action”.
